01/04 Morning Report
Given that this is the day the Democrats officially take control of Congress, I thought it would help the mood a little.
(…I have to admit I loved this little snippet by Jarhead John…I agree with it, too…of course, the Republicans weren’t that much different in how they did it 12 years ago…)
Here was a really odd news item. It seems a bank issued a credit card….to a cat. Someone in Australia wanted to test a bank’s identity system.
(…shouldn’t that be criminal…admittedly it revealed a system fault…but…)
And, just in time for the tourist season…Here is a a guide to understanding rude Parisians.
(…just what every home needs…)
Speaking of the French, in 12 days of on-line balloting, conservatives will choose a presidential candidate. Twelve days for primary voting? Wow! Sure beats the heck out of the American dog-and-pony shows that just go on and on. And, what about that “on-line” thing? By conservatives?
(…given the uproar over voting machine problems in certain places—leading to the end of machine testing--I can hear the Liberals howling now…)
Meanwhile, in Spain, terrorism is raising it’s ugly head again. After Saturday’s explosion, government officials are saying the peace process with the Basque ETA is broken. Earlier today, 220 pounds of explosives were found with a radio detonator.
(…there is a long ugly history on both sides of this one…much like northern Ireland…)
There seems to be conflicting versions of what happened at Saddaam’s execution. One version has Saddaam trading barbs, while other versions have him being taunted and insulted. With the world wide taste for the bizarre and disgusting, I am not the least bit surprised that it happened. But, personally, I think the person or persons responsible for making the video should be hung, as well.
And, in a reminder of how “peaceful” the Religion of Peace is, I present this video. Music courtesy of Cat Stevens...uummm...Yousaf Whatshisname.
Along with others, I suspect this will eventually be pulled as offensive to Muslims.
(…H/T to Euphoric Reality for the link…)
